Dick Yemm, Certified Financial Planner

Dick Yemm, a graduate of DePauw University, is a nationally recognized author of books and magazine articles, speaker and entrepreneur. He is the principal of First Asset Consultants, LLC, president of First Asset Managers, Inc and is a professionally licensed Certified Financial Planner. Mr. Yemm has conceived, developed, and operated several million-dollar businesses both as a single owner/employee and as a key owner/manager in businesses having multiple owners.

His extensive entrepreneurial experiences include serving as a general partner of a group that operated what became the largest mini warehouse complex in North Carolina. Building upon the warehouse success, he designed and operated childcare centers that were state of the art, both functionally and educationally. This included establishing one of the first privately owned infant to two-year-old childcare facilities in Florida.

He developed a seminar on contingency/succession planning for business owners after personally witnessing families being forced to accept substantial reductions in a business' value when their family member could no longer participate. During the course of presenting these seminars, it became apparent that surviving spouses and designated representatives needed their own guidance source. His book,The Stories, part of the series Tomorrow: Your Business Without You, is an Axiom 2009 Business Book Award winner.

Mr. Yemm has worked with business owners worldwide assisting them in developing contingency/succession plans. Global acquaintances met through Rotary International and while flying as a pilot with the military, National Airlines and Pan American World Airways contributed to his understanding and insight about contingency/succession planning. He has been published in Financial Planning and other magazines. His civic involvements include serving on professional, collegiate, cultural, and governmental boards and officiating high school level athletics. He is an associate member of the National Speakers Association of Central Florida and a member of Toastmasters International.
